Eu pet passport question

Great experience!

Easy parking even for a 9m motorhome, small Moho right outside, larger vehicle there is pull off immediately past.

VERY nice vet, clearly loves dogs, shocked our AHC and then filled out the passport - 50 euros all done.

NB She really wants cash

NNB as well as the AHC she asks for the date of registration of the dogs microchip as she says it can sometimes be checked at Calais.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like l need to get some cash aswell than 👍 she did quote €40 for consultation then €50 for Pp Maybe because I’m going on a Saturday 🤷‍♂️

The date of implantation of the microchip is needed if you are having rabies vaccination details transferred from an existing document. If you are having a rabies booster given at the same time as the Pet Passport is issued, then the date of reading of the microchip is fine.
She was quite insistent that she enter it into the new passport and that it should be the correct date as it can be checked

All these rules seem so unnecessary

The date(s) that will be checked are those entered on the PP as date chip implanted or read, and the date the rabies vaccination was given. The latter must be the same as or after the former - this is what will be checked by Pet Reception. They have no means of checking the actual date of implantation.

We used the date from registration with chipworks.

Either way, she will ask you for an exact date is all you need to be prepared for

Thanks for letting me know how you got on, noted in my book for future reference,
Even getting 2ahc online and a pp for each pouch will be less than our local vets want for the ahc

Christina is a lovely lady, been to her 4 times now and she always replies mostly at night and also weekends 😁

Last time we went we unfortunately were waiting on someone else who had to have their dog put to sleep☹️☹️

And she does love her cash😂😂

strikes me this from I-cad states the same as your post,Maz, from french consulate
The trouble with that ‘Brexit statement’ is that it reads as though you can only obtain an EU Pet Passport if your dog is I-cad registered, and that your dog can only be I-cad registered if it will be staying in France for more than 3 months. This is what the ‘howlers and screamers’ on Facebook latch on to as French ’law’, when all it is just a badly worded distortion of the arrête that it refers to.

Well I didn’t read it like at all
That first sentence reads to me that as long as you have a IK pet passport from pre 2021 which has the chip and the rabies date recorded then you can get an EU passport.
Otherwise you need the rigmarole of Ocado and three month plus residency

Then we’ll have to agree to disagree on what the ‘Brexit statement’ says, - but my reading of it is the one that many French vets use to deny Pet Passports to Brits.

PS ‘Ocado’ may well be a rigmarole but it is nowhere near as bad as I-cad.
