Hi everyone.

It’s been a while (before Covid) since I’ve travelled abroad in a motorhome and I just wondered if I still need a short EHU with a 2 pin plug for (France, Germany and Italy) or are they all standard now?

Thanks in advance.

Most are the blue 3-pin, but some are 2-pin, and some have reverse polarity! I expect other people will give other options!😕

I always have adaptors and have needed them, less and less though....

Have the two pin adapter. Used it twice in two years. Last time this May in Spain.

For about a fiver or so not a great outlay.

For Italy, you might need a different adaptor. Most sites are the standard round blue sockets, standard across Europe. But some use the domestic plug (Type L) which is three pins - two just the same as the '2-pin' plug, but with a central earth pin.

It's probably easier to get an adapter from Type L to a '2-pin' plug (Type F), then just use it with your 2-pin EHU adapter. Hard to find in the UK, but easy to find in any hardware shop in Italy. Something like this:

Twice in the last four weeks in France I've had to use an adapter. But mainly the now standard Blue plug

Hi there.
Thanks for the heads up and I think we’ll buy one in Italy on our travels. Thanks again.
