Erratic cooling fan

I have an Boxer BlueHDi 130, when the van is started from cold and the Air con is turned on, the engine cooling fan starts and runs for a second or so, then stops for 15/20 seconds and repeats.

After discovering this I drove the van for 2hours mostly on motorway and duel carriageway with the air con off, with no issues. When I put the air con on, within 5 mins the engine dropped into Limp mode EML yellow. I checked the OBD2 reader and had fault code P2563 cleared the codes and the drove it home with no further issues.

Check the connections on the second cooling van there is a known fault where the wiring makes and breaks

The fan running like that when air con is on is normal.
Dont know about that code

Does that topic title mean you are a fan of erratic cooling?

Correct that the fan should run when the air con is on but if there is a break in the wire it will put the EML on. Happened to me on a 2008 Fiat.
