That's it...

I have had enough.

It's been relatively cold at Quinta Majay these last few days.

The plan was that, with my new heating system, I would be able to withstand the cold in central Portugal better than usual and, despite using much more gas, I could afford it easily because I would be saving money spent on parking fees in the Algarve.

Last night I had to put on a new gas cylinder after only six days! That is nearly €6 per day!

The ground was covered in frost this morning and the tops of my ears felt cold when I went outside.

That's it.

I'm going down to the Algarve where it is around 5° warmer and a tad sunnier than QMJ.

So I am at my "local" garage having a service on the van (oil, filters, radiator flushed etc.) then I'll pop down the road to my former place of work (Estudio 33) to collect my latest Temu package which arrived yesterday and then it is onto the motorway and heading south to the sun.

Keep safe and warm everyone.

Aww...didums. My Smart meter said i spent £8 on Gas and electric in my house yesterday. That's not including the 5 logs on the log burner last night and it's not even properly cold yet!

Plus I don't get to enjoy beautiful Portugal - just a grey and wet Milton Keynes!

My "local" garage started life many moons ago as a brake and clutch plate relining centre.

The Boss (and owner) Rui still does this work today...

but these days he and (mostly) his "man" Micah do car repair and servicing work.

Get yourself a deisel heater. Better than gas.

Oh please...

"Better?"

Better for keeping my fridge cold?

Better for cooking my morning porridge?

Better for heating my hot water?

Yeah right... of course it is... :whistle2:

Freezing here in Valence Drôme , at Yannick's place (son).
I'm supposed to pay for the gas I use ... but hey ho, not like in Max... there are 2 floors here, and it's quite large, so decided to keep the heater up to 17°and to only use the pellet stove. At least I can see how much I use everyday. After 1and 1/2 month my account has gone down to 50 euros less. Grrrrr! Home sitting!!?? Never do it with family!! 15° when I get up .... brrrrr

We managed to get 16 hours free leccy by shifting some use out of peak (easily done we were away in the van for a week🤣🤣🤣) so on the said Sunday we put dishwasher on twice, cooked lunch, washing machine on 4 times etc. Just had my credit to my account grand total of £2.95. Got 4 hours this Sunday so will repeat.

I don't much like posting about money.

My folks told me it was very gauche to talk about money.

But I thought I'd mention the bill for my "service" this morning.

Supplying and fitting...

Oil filter.
Fuel filter.
Air filter.
New oil (posh stuff).
Radiator liquid.

€135.

I'm afraid there is no place to hide but never mind...

City have been champions so often and for so long that it is decent of us to give other (lesser) clubs a chance!

We even let your lot have a point!

...and remember... it is only a game ;)
