A few weeks back I had a problem with mice munching through a vacuum pipe that apparently does something important with the turbo. My local garage quickly made a repair by plugging a small hose with a bolt - see picture. They said I could get a genuine replacement part, but what they’d done was sufficient to fix the problem permanently. They have indeed fixed the fault, van drives ok and warning light (something to do with turbo blade position ) is now off.
However, I’m intrigued to know what was there before the mouse chewed it off. Has anyone got a picture of that area in the front of the engine bay? Mine is a 2018 150 Ducato.

To find the part number (if not stamped into the part already) sites like this are good to start.

Not sure of the rules linking to another site, but this German site http://miller-camper-fans.forumprofi.de/t137f6-Marderbisse-Anschluss-DYTECH-B.html has a few pics of your offending item. I'm thinking it's just a vacuum manifold that distributes a central vacuum to different parts of the engine (turbo, egr valve etc) ?

Perfect, thank you. I see from the pictures that it’s just a piece of rigid white plastic pipe sealed at one end that acts as a blanking plug. The garage gave me a bit of plastic, the significance of which wasn’t obvious at the time. However, I now see the little bugger has completely chewed the end off - see picture. The repair is good to last I think.

yES SEEN this before mostly the orange version, must be tasty. Some cables are now made of soy based product, so tasty very tasty and obviously atractive to rodents.

I think that's a bog standard vacuum operated waste gate actuator. IIRC the variable vane system where fitted has an electronic solenoid and pushrod actuator.
Can only go by my experience and the engine and turbo in the picture is same as mine, a 2.8JTD, that has a vacuum actuated system for the variable veins.
