I have a 2008 Ford Burstner Nexxo t660, bought secondhand.
I had a problem with the batteries, I changed the leisure battery and fixed the problem.
I found that both the batteries are leisure batteries is this correct? if not do you know what battery I need.
thanks for any help

Dont quite understand the question. Are you saying your engine battery is also a leisure battery. If so as long as it cranks ok then yes it can be used.

It's not ideal as engine batteries do require large "bursts" and leisure are designed for longevity but you can use it till it drops.

But maybe beware if it gets too flat for too long that it may affect air bag sensors ?

The cab battery should be a standard Ford Transit battery. Just search a car parts web site, feeding in the details as if it were a panel van.

Like Tombola said, leisure batteries are for sustained load but low current. Starter batteries don't have the same capacity and efficiency, but they can cope with the draw when you crank the starter. A leisure battery is ok, leave it if it's healthy and the van is starting cleanly. But it'll probably have a shortened life. Replace it when the time comes.

I have got two identical batteries under the seat behind the drivers chair, they are wired together. There are no other batteries in the motorhome or under the bonnet that I can find. I am assuming one is for leisure and one is for the engine. or can they both be used together for both purposes?

The engine battery will be under the passenger’s side floor panel
The 2 you have are both leisure batteries
Sorry this is for a Fiat not sure about a Ford

They'll both be leisure batteries, there will be a cab battery under the floor of the cab at a guess.

Edit: Newfie got there first.

Yes,2 leisure batteries wired in parallel under your seat. Your starter battery is most probably under a panel in the floor in front of thecpasseger seat. Take up the carpet and there should be a large rectangular soft plastic panel with slotted plastic turn screws( use a2pence piece to turn them).the starter battery should be under this.

If its a Ford the starter battery is under the drivers seat and a b*st*rd to get at.
It sounds like you have two leisure batteries, lucky you.

Yes both leisure.... think about it if not converted to motorhome there would be nothing behind the drivers seat.... certainly no battery's..
As stated under front floor....
On my movano you have to remove the passengers plastic covering door step at door to access battery..

I might be wrong but I think you’re talking about a Mk7 Transit base vehicle. If so it’s likely to be the same as our Mk6 Transit.
Under the drivers seat the back battery is for starting and the front battery is for light loads like radio lights etc. Ours has had the front battery changed to a 100 amp leisure battery by the converters for the habitation electrics.
Before we bought the motorhome it had a 100 amp leisure battery fitted under the passenger seat linked to the one under the drivers seat. There was a solar panel fitted at the same time.
The passenger seat can be unbolted and lifted out but the drivers seat is best tipped to the left because of the seat belt.

Yep, my Mk7 works transit had exactly the same. Two batteries under the driver's seat. Both connected to the regular van electrics. One starter and one for auxiliary items. Pretty standard on lots of transits especially ones used by utility companies with extra lights etc

For blooz and tooz and and possibly welfare vans I can understand...
Good resource for a second battery in moho....
However is this normal in a standard Tranny van, is there room for second battery? OP had two battery's behind seat.....NOT ... underneath..

As I said there’s room under the passenger seat for another battery and the solar controler. The link wires across to the other battery go under a false floor between the seats.
We bought the motorhome with plans to be off grid more on our travels so the add ons by the last owner made it a good buy.
