How much energy does your MH use while not in use? I have 350W solar and 200Ah lithium and I noticed that my battery charge was getting lower and lower, when I realized that the WiFi router which was on and connected to 5g and also having a VPN connection to my home might be drawing too much. I shut it down and about 2 weeks have passed since then (not all of them sunny - I’m based in Switzerland) and the batteries are still not fully charged. Today I checked again and I seem to be using about 10% with nothing turned on (except for the 12v system/control panel). The MH is a Carthago. What are your thoughts?

Maybe worth checking

Little usb lights
Trickle charge to starter battery, which in turn may supply the tracker etc
Inverter left on
Control panel on

All little accumulations

Interesting. I have 350 w solar too and 180ah agm. My current draw from the leisure batteries is 0.7A. Wif router, cctv module and the victron cerbo gx. My solar didn't keep up during Dec and Jan but it has been very cloudy and dull
Recently it is OK though. Charging the leisure battery and the engine battery. I have a tracker and alarm on the engine battery.

Hi,
We have a S Plus, with a Victron system and 5g WIFI router system for remote monitoring. This all uses around 7/8Watts, so quite a bit, will use about 12AH over 24hrs. We have 550watts of solar, and other than in Dec/Jan that usually keeps up with the drain. Our leisure battery would go from full down to 50% over the winter if it were left to do so, but I take it out for a run monthly.

We have 430ah of Leisure batteries, with an Ablemail AMT12 which keeps the start battery topped up (powering the alarm/tracker etc), so that additional drain is included in the above figure.

The Carthago panel is always off when our van is not being used, however, if you leave yours on it will use a little power because it and the DS470 distribution/fusebox will be monitoring everything. More importantly every time your leisure battery gets to 13.5v (as may happen when solar charging is active) the CBE system will connect the start battery and leisure battery together to charge the start battery with up to 4amps current, this charging only happens if the main CBE panel is left on.

If your start battery is getting tired (mine is!) it's surprising how much it can use from the leisure batteries via this system, but at least the engine will start!
