Swift Kontiki 784
We have a Swift KonTiki 784 which has En-Route heating.
The idea is that when driving you can have the gas heating on so warming the Habitation area of the van.

Having a problem getting it to work.
Instructions say to put gas heating on before starting vehicle - that`s all good and light shows to say En-Route heating working.
Start engine and light goes out immediately.
Have had it back to the dealer and they say it works. Service reception are clueless about it.
Can anyone shed a bit of light on what may be wrong?

Simple answer, go back to the dealer and say "If you say it works please prove it by showing me."
If they can then job done.
If not tell them to fix it.

Have tried that and they say it`s fine. When I picked it up last time I asked and there was no one available to show me as the workshop is remote from the dealer showroom. Am going back to the dealer soon and this time I will be more persistent
Cheers

seesaw Have you tried starting the engine and then putting the en-route heating on ? Also there may be a fuse linked to en-route heating on your habitation PSU 12v fuse box ( it may be fuse 11 , if you have a Sargent EC460 PSU fitted )
Once the engine is started the control panel does not work.
Will have a look at your fuse suggestion.
Thanks
Sid

My first thought was as the control panel turns off as soon as the engine is started (British van - stupid & from caravans), how can the heating work, as it need electricity?

I believe that the PSU by-passes the habitation shutdown system , for just the heating controls to be powered , for en-route use when the engine is running . ( if the PSU model has this feature within it , my Autocruise van with a EC460 PSU has this . )

Thanks for the replies.
I`m in a real quandary with this as I have seen on YouTube somebody with an identical van to mine commenting about the Enroute heating working as they drove along, think it was Bob Earnshaw.
Will keep looking

My Swift built 2015 Auto cruise van has Truma Combi en-route heating and it is mentioned in the owners handbook , if your owners handbook says the same and there is a fuse for it on the PSU maybe the PSU is faulty (or the wiring has been altered ) www.sargentltd.co.uk should be able to confirm if your Swift Motorhome should have the en-route heating or not

Is it an alde system?

Set to manual (make sure not on timer)
Select Gas
Set temp

Should be Done
It will decide whether to use engine heat exchanger and mix gas.

Have you pressed the grey rupture protect valve ...so gas is flowing ?
