empty gas bottles

all this talk about gas bottles has reminded me i have a small stock of empty butane bottles. i currently have 3x 13kg bottles and 3x 6/7kg - one of which is one of those small calor lightwight ones. any suggestions on what i might do with them now ? i know i could simply swap them for full ones but i dont need any gas right now. So do empties have any value right now ?

Worth quite a bit at the moment have a look on Facebook marketplace and other selling sites and see what they are fetching.

I sold mine on ebay - buyer collects. This was during lockdown, when it was very hard to get refills and impossible to get new bottles.

I don't think supply of new bottles has become any easier.

Put them on the classifieds on here? It won't cost you anything.

Have a look at sites where certain travelling type folk have been, I counted seven different canisters the other day on a walk varying from Safefill, BP, Calor,Homeheat both butane and propane from 6 kgs to 47kgs just thrown into a hedge. If anyone in the Preston area wants them PM me and I will give you the location! Be careful though other substances may be in the undergrowth!

Remember when you do want lpg you will need to swap empty for full or pay a surcharge.
Most council tips now have cages where you can dump empty (sometimes part full) bottles.
