Anyone know a 24/7 garage/mobile service who could repair a leaky skylight in or near totnes?

I'm wrestling with google at the moment (everyone shut or disconnected so far), but any local knowledge would be gratefully received. Always worth a post on here ...

You are near to Alan Kerr in Paignton. They are open for sales today, service back in tomorrow 01803 522098. They may be able to help.

And Highbridge Motorhomes near Bovey Tracey just off the A38.

Maybe a truck repairer, Cannon Commercials or Honeywell Commercials. Cannon do breakdown and recovery out of hours and both have mobile vans. They are not too far so you may be able to get them to open the workshop and do the repair in the dry, although there will be callout charges. Labour rates will be more reasonable than the motorhome repairers so may be cost neutral.

If the vent is just leaking could you get some plastic over the top (bin bag, cereal packet bag etc) and tape to the inside?

To help minimise the ingress, presuming it’s the seal gone not the plastic cover broken, tip your MH up a little at one end or side to displace any standing water, it only needs a little change to clear the roof 👍

I've had a look out of the hatch, and where the water appears to be coming in from there are solar panel fixings.

I fear this may not be coincidence...

... Also, the ceiling is showing off the scale damp on my meter 2 inches either side of the hatch, but not front and back.

Sounding grimmer by the minute...

You will pass Vanbitz on the way home who do solar panels. May be worth giving them a call in the morning and there is a campsite next door.

Vanbitz installed the solar :)

I'm going to call them in the morning (they are shut at the moment and not taking messages).

If it's going to be more than a quick job you may better heading home and arranging repair from there.

It's looking increasingly likely that this won't be a quick fix. If nothing else I imagine things would need drying out. Can't get anyone out today anyway.

I'm managing the water with tea towels (one set will last the night now the rain has calmed down a bit).

I’d still try in the morning as all the trades are back to normal tomorrow. If they did the original install they will know what materials were used. You will still have the damp which you can’t do much about for the moment, the important thing is to stop any further damage as soon as possible.

Anyone know any magic incantations to make the rain stop? I've already made a sacrifice (not saying who or what) ...

Quick update - after a fraught morning of ringing around, Select Motorhomes in Newton Abbott have saved the day and have squeezed us in and I doubt I could be more grateful.

They're also doing a service and hab check.

If this is how they treat everyone, then I'm not surprised they have such a good reputation! Top marks so far.
