Hi all, from what I understand blue fluid is a no no for septic tanks etc, and green is considered the better alternative. But what is the pink stuff? It says toilet rinse... but presumably this would then be an extra on top of someone using green or blue yes? Or is it to be separate? Is anyone aware of the differences? - or shall I discount this as something just not needed and a good marketing ploy to make you think it's worth it...

Pink is normally only used if you have a separate flushing water tank such as mainly on caravans.
Many / most be motorhomes don’t have a separate flushing water tank tank but take flushing water water from the main water tank.
No pink fluid needed.

Many of us, use pink in a hand held spray. it then does the same job, but better than in the flush water.

It is a long time since I have seen a separate flush water tank.

Never used pink in our motorhome managed without, using only the fresh water flush from the main tank.

Brilliant thanks all. I sort of expected it to be one of those "nice to have things" but knowing so little about them, I thought it worthy of an ask.

I read on here that silicone spray can also help keep the bowl clean, and in all honesty, I'm not fussed about using it... (Quite happy to do as I do at home.) But it got me thinking that silicone spray also would not play nice, in a septic tank that is presumably using natural enzymes??

Silicon spray for the blade and its seal. If you want to improve the sliding effect of the jobbies, then you can use car wax or polish, but I never have.

Personally I used toilet bowl liners, which then all slide nicely into the tank and no marks to worry about.

I try not to flush when away from a site and then it’s piddle and spray with a diluted amount of pink stuff.

On site, it’s a free for all and flush as much as you like.

Oh, looks like I've been doing wrong all these years!
I put green in the water tank and that's it.
It is a separate tank I might add😉

It matters not the main difference is the pink is scented “ allegedly “
I find my pink stinks of pee or poo, depending on how many days I’ve been an FLT 😇😁

Forget the 'proper' toilet liquids and use bio washing liquid instead, much cheaper and doesn't stain stuff when you spill it.

Oh, as for polishing the bowl, yes it helps prevent things sticking but don't ever polish the top rim/water channel as the flushing water will wiz round it and give you an unwelcome shower! We were all educated about this point from the very experienced Lenny HB 😄

Many don’t use. Any form of additive to the cassette, just plain water. With or without a SOG

When we had the PVC it had a separate flush tank. I used the pink stuff it caused black stuff in the tank and the pump failed. I cleaned the tank and replaced the pump. I've not put anything apart from water in the flush tank since. I use bio washing tabs, from Lidl in the cassette.

We use green in the cassette. Many swear by Solibio but we don’t use it because it’s liquid and I prefer tabs

Do these not just add to the total volume in the tank? meaning you need to empty more often?

I'm interested in the process of polishing a jobbie... wax on, wax off...?
