Where can I find someone reliable to check and rewire my 2007 Warwick Duo Peugeot Boxer Autosleeper in the NE of Scotland or nearby. I purchased the van 4years ago from Spinney motors in Cheshire and as a first time motorhome owner never really paid much attention to the jumble of wires under the driver seat. Everything worked at the time however there have been various electrical anomalies since and this latest issue with smoke and a melted control panel has given me many concerns. Advice please!

I'd doubt it needs rewiring but clearly a fault needs identifying and correcting.
Are the batteries under the seats, could be vibration has chaffed a cable and caused a short circuit ?
Have you done a search for local auto electricians ?

Yes habitation battery under the drivers seat. I don't live on the scottish mainland and there is no one on Shetland that is a specialist in motorhomes. Whilst on the mainland recently I approached a couple of motorhome autoelectricians but neither had the time or inclination to take the job on hence my feeling that it might be more attractive if rather than fault finding I found someone who would just rewire it. My local garage looked at it and seemed to have fixed a charging problem that had developed but the next thing that happens is the smoking control panel....

Welcome.
Fuses should prevent extensive wiring damage.

Everything worked at the time however there have been various electrical anomalies since and this latest issue with smoke and a melted control panel

Were these 'anomalies' resolved by the fitting of higher rated fuses?

Yes and no as now with this latest situation I have a burnt out control panel removed with wires sticking out of the bulkhead and my local garage mechanic scratching his head wondering what has caused it but not having the specialist knowledge to know how to resolve it. The wiring diagram in the manual is not detailed enough plus it looks as if someone has added a relay and extra wires which cant be explained.
Knowing this I have lost confidence in the van's electrics and am even worried about plugging it into the mains just in case it causes more smoke!
