Hi people
I have a problem with the electrics in my Hymer Mercedes MLT630! Initially it was just the gas igniter on the hob stopped working! Then the light switch in the galley stopped working! On subsequent checking certain other switches for lights on that side of the Motorhome weren’t working! I checked the EBL Block for fuses blown but they were all ok! Hymer manual doesn’t have useful EWD’s so can’t trace it to any junction or relays with connected circuits! I’m reasonably competent with a multimeter but need a few places to check first! Any help will be appreciated!

I had a similar problem on my Hymer in my case a fuse was blowing, in the end found out when you put the bed up and down the fuse would sometimes blow, still took ages to find. It was poor routing of the loom at the side of the bed and the loom was getting trapped in the bed mechanism.

Hi Lenny - thanks for that! I checked the fuses in the EBL BLOCK and they seemed to be ok! Is there any other fuse/relay boards anywhere that I could check?Unfortunately the fuse covers are in German and a bit difficult to interpret even with google translate!

Did you remove the fuses to check, I made mistake once of checking in situ with a multi meter it didn’t detect a blown fuse

Also they can look OK but still be broken

Just been out and had a play between downpours, it was a 15 amp fuse Kreis 1 (Circuit 1).
Check the fuse with a meter they can often look OK but are blown or high resistance.

Appreciate that Lenny- it’s lashing down here at present but will get out when there’s a lull!

Hi David - no didn’t remove completely but gave each one a shoogle! When weather permits I’ll get back out and remove each one! Lenny has guided me towards the 15 amp fuses so will give them an individual check! Think I’ll just change them anyway! Thanks for your input!

Hi Lenny- Sorted! Checked the fuse in situ seemed alright then took it out and checked it - blown though not obvious! New fuse inserted and problem solved! Don’t know why it blew in first place but for now it’s working! Many thanks to you and David. Doug

Don't be surprised if it blows again then you will have to find the wiring fault.
