Swift escape 696
Hi All, new to group, have a question and grateful for any answers available.. I have recently bought a 2013 swift escape 696 and it would appear that the heating only works on mains electric, is this common?, there is a dial and an ignition button for gas but it doesn't seem to be hooked up for a gas supply, what do people in this situation do for heating when no mains supply is available?? Thanks in advance.. David..

It should be hooked up to the gas supply if its a 2013 model .have you got a gas hob that works and fridge?
If that's the case it's most probably been turned off at the manifold.which is probably near the heater.

Your gas bottle may have a small button on it to press to get it flowing, assuming you have some.elft innthe bottles of course.

As for electric heating yes that will only work from mains when plugged in.

Do you have a gas manifold similar to this

and if so is the knob for heating turned on ?

Hi, yes, fridge and hob hooked up to gas, in the cupboard inside there are 2 shut off valves for the above but I don't see 1 for the heating, in the gas bottle cupboard on the outside there is 2 gas bottles that are lpg and get filled at a service station when necessary...

There should be one for every gas appliance. Check around the heater. Sometimes when the heater/ boiler is switched off incorrectly .ie without power to run the cooling fan the heater will trip out. There should be a reset button also on or near the heater. This can stop it working on gas. May need resetting.

Thanks, I'll check that out..
