Benimar Mileo 202
I have a Benimar mileo 202 2018 edition. Have just plugged into electrics in France. I have a strange noise coming from my fuse box area. Have tried turning on/off each fuse and master switch. After a few minutes it returns once turned back on? Never had this before? The noise is like the pump is operating nuts not. Help!

We used to have a 202 it's the cooling fan for the power supply it comes on in hot weather because there is insufficient air movement in the locker because it is unvented stick a book under the top of the locker lid to hold it open slightly if your not sat there, I fitted extra vents to ours.

I'd turn it off!

Sorry can't be more helpful.

are you sure the pump isnt operating ??? if the tank is empty it might be trying to charge up your pipework? or you might have a solenoid on one your taps (if its set up like that?) thats stuck in the on position .....?

can you isolate your pump and if you still get the sound, than you know its def not your pump?

Hi Mister B. Just checked water pump is off and noise has returned. After I switch main fuse back on it takes over a minute for the noise to return. The noise is definitely coming from the main fuse box area???

Check polarity at the power outlet. Many French sites have reverse polarity.
I once took out a whole sites power once.

Hi. I’m currently plugged into the mains at our house in France so not using a camp site supply. The noise is actually coming from the grey box to the right of the fuse box (see photo)
Sorry but not sure how to check polarity? Not had this before in France at house or camp site?

Possibly a failing relay.
You dont seem knowledgable with electrics so maybe seek a professional motorhome sparky.

So I’ve turned the battery charger off and the noise has stopped but the power is still working. Good news I think? Does this mean that the van battery and or leisure battery are now not charging? Does that mean the only way to charge would be to run engine??? Sorry to be thick!

Could it just be the cooling fan in the charger, I’ve heard of people who turn it off at night because of this.

It does sound like a cooling fan?

Yes. All your 12v appliances like the lights and pump are using your battery. Which is now not charging.

We have the same charger (2 chargers actually). When initially plugged in and batteries need a charge then the fans come on. Ours do stop after awhile but it can be quite awhile.

When initially plugged in it will be putting in about 18 to 20 amps this will drop as the batteries reach capacity and the fan will stop.

Thankfully we sleep at the other end of the van😁

That's the same electric layout that we had in our 286. As stated above, the noise is probably a cooling fan. Our was worse as the Truma heater was mounted in the same cabinet, so fan came on every time we had the heating or hot water on, or if it was hot weather. A bad installation design. We used to prop the locker lid open to get some extra ventilation.
