Vantage Neo
Hiya
We are away part of Jan and Feb without the van. It’s a 2021 Fiat-vantage neo-with one solar panel. Hopefully the worst of the cold is over but you never can tell. We have drained the water and removed bedding. Is it Ok to leave EHU on full time for four weeks with a thermostat temp of say 5 degrees. Is this a good idea or overkill. First posting on here so hi to everyone. Should the van battery charger be on leisure or auto?

I’d leave it plugged in the EHU, but don’t heat it. Just drain it down and get some air circulation

Your solar panel might be enough without ehu if 150w plus.
Heating unnecessary if drained down and possibly won't work if not drained.

It may be better to leave your charger on automatic to keep both the starter and leisure batteries charged (if that is what automatic means on your type of charger) , unless you have a battery master type of unit fitted that will trickle charge the starter battery from the leisure battery , otherwise your starter battery may go flat over a 4 week period due to the standby electronics power drain

Heat may just add to the amount of moisture in the air. Open cupboards and drawers and maybe put in a couple of dehumidifier traps.
Can’t see any reason why leaving the ehu to charge the batteries would be an issue but some suggest using a timer to give power an hour or two a day.

We keep the van on EHU over the winter, mainly for the batteries.

We put two 80w greenhouse heaters in the van, set on low. It just keeps the van above freezing but they turn off automatically at about 8°, and they don't cause any moisture.

As others have said, open all doors, drawers and storage areas.
