Chausson Welcome 610
Hi, new to motorhoming and we can’t figure out why our lights won’t come on when we put up the electric bed? We know there is a pressure switch which prevents them coming on but this isn’t the problem as we have stripped the bed and they still won’t come on. Can anyone help?

Not sure what MH you have, but, on our previous Adria there was a small micro switch fitted to the bed mechanism, whereby when the bed was lowered the metal strip on the switch would open as the mechanism parted allowing power to the lights.

On my Pilote there is a microswitch at the top of one of the runners, it contacts just as the bed reaches its full height.
When the bed is in full height mode, push up a little and see if it contacts, if so then the switch needs adjusting.
Also check the fuses, ours has its own fuse for the lights...

We have a Chausson Welcome 610 2019. I’ve attached photos of the switch that I think you’re referring to. We have adjusted the height up and down of the box and tried pushing it up a little when at full height but nothing seems to have worked. 🤷‍♀️

Try cleaning the contacts, the bed has two contact pins that when under pressure (bed is up) make contact with the base plate on cupboard/wall.

try clean both contact pin and base plate connectors with very fine emery/sandpaper.

mine does it often

Cleaned the contacts and no different 😕 Also checked the fuses (the ones we could find anyway ) and no joy.

Have you checked the bulb?

The only other thing I could suggest is if you are familiar with using/have a multimeter is to check the contacts for power on the switch box you sent a picture of, there should be power at the connections.

At least this would narrow down the issue, I have had a few issues with contacts on mine.

There are 4 lights. Not sure how to get them out and check?

thank you, we don’t have access to a multimeter at the moment so I think it will have to wait until we get home.
Thanks for your advice. 😊

Very unlikely that all four bulbs have failed at the same time. Good luck!

It’s much more fun fumbling around in the dark🙀. Sorry, couldn’t resist, hope you get it sorted

A multimeter is the way to go. Check for power at the micro switch, if no 12v there work back to the fuse box or battery.

Hi, here are some tips for you, if the light on your electric bed does not turn on, you should follow these steps:

Check the connection: Make sure that the electric bed is plugged into the outlet and that the wires are intact.

Check the switch: Make sure the bed switch is in the "On" position. Try switching it both ways.

Check the outlet: Make sure the outlet the bed is plugged into is working, check other devices to make sure the outlet is supplying electricity.

Replacing the Bulb: If your electric bed light has a separate bulb, try replacing it with a new one.

Contact the Manufacturer: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, contact the electric bed manufacturer or technical support for further assistance and repair tips.
Welcome to the forum!

Just out of interest, did you write that, copy and paste it or is it AI generated?

Seems mostly good advice anyway.

we have a Rapido with an electric bed and regularly (once a year) plays silly buggers with the lights mounted under the bed. the problem has nothing to do with the hight microswitches but effects a complete bank of lights 2,4 outside edge or 6 in middle (wired in series?) . Mine are just about accessible if you remove the mattress, then you can attack with a multimeter. just fiddling with spade connectors sometimes sorts it, vibration/muck problems?
