Hi all, I’m having problems with my Thule omnistor electric awning. When I press the extend button it comes out about 30cm then retracts. To add to the problem I’ve found out that the control panel is fitted behind an almost inaccessible panel . Any suggestions would be much appreciated . Thanks

Have you tried assisting it as it tries to extend it. I assume that it is extending then getting to a “sticky” point where the effort it has to put out increases to a point the system thinks something is wrong, or it is against something. I don’t think it will be the control side. Do you have the ability to manually operate it?

Is the arm (elbow) sticking in any way ? What about extending it as far as it goes then having a look at the arms and overall mechanism.

Hi Andy. Haven’t tried assisting it. Will try it this weekend. I think you can manually wind it out but was never given a handle to do it

Hi Ridgeway. If I can get it out again I’ll give them a good looking at. Thanks

On the LH end there’s a cap covering the turning point. You need the handle really but you may be able to turn it with another tool, this just to try to see how stiff it is beyond the sticking point.

Cheers ridgeway. Just ordered a handall so it will be interesting to see if it winds out 👍

Car jacks sometimes have a suitable handle while you wait for your proper handle to come
