We are looking at a 22 plate Elddis Sunseeker 194 with 3800 miles we like the design and inside layout and features. Habitation check has been done for this year but have read some pretty bad reviews regarding the solid construction and damp problems and after sales of Elddis. I’m aware as a 2nd owner we will get a remaining 7 year warranty on water ingress.
Do I need to be concerned about the things I am reading. Welcome any other things to look out for and check. It also has the air bag suspension fitted

Hi and welcome.

The thing to take into consideration is that any warranty you have is with the dealership not with Elddis directly and to ensure the 7 year water ingress warranty you will have to have full records of the annual inspection done by an Elddis approved dealership.

On our Burstner there are strict timetables for the damp check as in 30 before to 30 after date of registration.

It was brought new from Westcountry motor homes we would be the second owner but is with a reputable 2nd hand dealer so as long as we go to an approved Elddis dealer we should be ok?

You won't get 7 years remaining. Check the warranty terms. Its 10 years from new subject to a hab check being carried out every anniversary. Second owner it reduces to only a few years not the balance from new. ( ITS 6 years from new for second owner so if its a 2022 then you have 4 years remaining but you have to register as a second owner)
Best to do your own damp check. Buy a decent meter and check everywhere dont accept the dealers hab report.

I would assume so, but make sure you check the water ingress warranty requirements carefully. Also I assume the current habitation check was by Elddis approved workshop.

I need to double check but I think so as far as I’m aware will definitely make sure though

We've had our 2018 Elddis with SoLiD construction from new, had our habitation check done each year and had no issues with damp. As for Elddis after sales we've had no problems with our dealership (Vehicles 4 Leisure) in North Wales. I've read some horror stories on here over the years about dealerships and I don't think that Elddis come out better or worse than other brands. (y)

Yes it’s like anything you hear all the bad bits/problems. I was very impressed with the layout of the van and had everything she wanted
