As anyone got an Elddis 255 motorhome what do you think of it and is it the best Elddis motorhome. Thank you.

Got a 2015 155.Wouldnt buy another unless convinced Elddis have fixed damp issues and initial build quality.Too many trips over the Pennines to Glossop

We've not had any issues with our Elddis Accordo 105 Prestige which we bought new in 2018.
Having read so many horror stories on here about motorhomes costing twice what ours did, I don't think Elddis are any better or worse than many other brands. There's good and bad across the board I'm sorry to say :frowny:

I’ve had two Marquis-badged Elddis ‘vans from new, a 120 and a 155…..
The 120 kitchen area floor delaminated after 18 months, the 155 had 70+% damp along the rear wall after 30 months, both repaired under warranty. Would I buy another Elddis?
No.

We had an Eldis 115 (Marquis version). You get a lot for your money and we had very few problems. I would say fine for your first van to see if you like it, longer term the units and bed weren't strong enough for substantial use (we are both slim). Once we started spending 2-3 months per year away it was breaking up inside. But for the odd week and weekend it was an ideal introduction.

I had an Elddis Encore 255, as a van it was good, alde heating etc. storage not so good. Had we kept it we would have re foamed the bed and sofas. So really other than the storage it was a good van, everything worked and had ZERO damp, Mrs Westy says it was her favourite van🤷‍♂️

I had a new 2010 reg Elddis 180 for about 18 months. It was perfectly fine for my purposes at the time though the payload wasn't that great. It did also have some internal breakages, eg of the bed support structures which were a bit flimsy. The 255 is obviously a much newer van and probably built to a higher standard.

Edit: Also had no damp problems while I had it.

It’s still being used too - just checked its MOT history.

We have an elddis 185 , 2016 and it’s been very good, purchased from new
No damp except when the large Heiki roof unit cracked on the base and let water in and caused high damp readings
This was after 6 years, had the complete unit replaced and it has completely dried out with no damp
Minor niggles when purchased but fixed under warranty
Replaced Whale water pump ( not Elddis problem)
The guy who does my yearly habitation check tells me I have been very lucky with my unit, he was not very complimentary about British built mororhomes
But- there are also some complaints about high end units

The best any make of van is the one which has most things on your must have and would like list and suits the use you are going to make of it. Friends love theirs I like it too but it has no decent outside accesible storage

Had our Elddis over 9 years and the inside furniture has held up great, and we used to stay 4 months in Spain some years. Worst thing was the rear wheel arches leaked from road spray, fixed them myself 😇

Hi, I agree with a the ones that have reported build quality issues. The interior has had quite a few problems. Not the most robust design including leaks and electrical failures.

You get what you pay for. They are cheap and you can see where they have saved money.

If you are lucky you can get a lot of van for your money.

Not for us though.

It depends what pool you are swimming in, rather like cars, Prestige marks like Jaguar, Mercedes, and Audi are more expensive than Skoda and Citroen, depends what you are looking to spend and what you are looking to achieve. Skoda's and Citroen do just fine, finesse, fit and finish not so good as a Mercedes, however, they will still get you from a to b and in the case of the Citroen very comfortably. Huge amount of snobbery out there, once again like cars, however, just like cars by en large you will get better fit and finish with a more expensive make, question is 'do you need it, or do you just want to get out there and have some fun'?

For what it’s worth I drive a Skoda Superb that has adaptive cruise control, heated seats, auto climate control, android auto and more gadgets than I could list. It is a 2016 and still drives like a dream. Everything works like new. If I could get the equivalent in a motorhome I would be more than happy 😃
