Just about to buy an Elddis CV 40, but have noticed that the rear bump stops are in contact with the suspension springs is this normal?

I would have thought not .... However a lot of people have removed them,, from various different makes/chassis and fitted air assist (air bags) which are in constant contact ......

They are not just bump stops they are spring assisters as well it's normal for them to be close or touching the springs.
Especially as campervan's by design are always loaded at the upper end of the maximum load capacity, so the suspension is always working hard.
My 6.4m Ducato was running at 3.4T and the bump stops were always in contact with the springs. I fitted semi air and that was a game changer.
