Elddis 300 special

My youngest & partner are taking the first steps into the wonderful world of motorhoming and have just bought an Elddis 300 - 1988 in lovely condition, 2.5d, we have been told it was built on a Ducato chassis with an Iveco engine?
I politely call it "quirky" rather than wanting to upset anyone! Does anyone know anything about them, how many were made etc... Any info gratefully appreciated - thank you
