I'm a newbie
Hi... Hope someone can shed some light... When the EHU is connected, the indicator light on the panel does not light up... even though all the sockets in the van work... I don't think the fridge works... the illuminated switch for the boiler comes on ( not sure if it works!) It was all fine last week... but I have changed the starter battery since then. Any suggestions gratefully received!!

The led in my panel indicating EHU doesn’t work, everything else is fine. If you check and everything works then that could be your problem. I just live with it.

I vaguely recollect that after a battery change you have to activate something on the permanently live circuits like a step, or an inside light, but that may have been on the the hab battery side. The grown ups will be along shortly with something more helpful.
PS, I have an uncle on New Rd.Near the London Inn.

The EBL on previous Hymers used to be connected using a kettle plug .

Check that it is no loose - as that will turn out the indicator you refer to.

Do you know what make and model the panel and associated controller are? It will not be sending 230v mains to the panel, there will be a sensor or relay somewhere that triggers a signal level DC voltage to light the LED. As AndyMcB says, it may just be the LED that has failed, but it could be anything from that, or damaged cable, faulty relay or sensor, or a fault in the controller or the panel. Thay may or may not have been caused by a voltage spike when changing out the battery.

Start with the basics.
1. Turn off the panel for five minutes and restart it. That might clear the fault.
2. If it's a separate controller, is there a reset button?
3. Check the 230V distribution unit, are all the trips up?
4. Is the habitation battery being charged when EHU is connected and on?

Do you have a circuit diagram for your van? That may well give more clues?

After that, unless you are confident with a multimeter and belling out circuits, its best left to a professional.

Doesn’t show MoHo details on his profile, not on my IPhone anyway.

Looks as though that’s now

Mains switches all OK ... Not sure what an EBL is... or where to find it!! Will check around the positive battery terminal (Not THAT thing again!!) Don't know if the battery is being charged on EHU.. showing 13v.. but IS a brand new battery.. Don't think the fridge is working.. if that's significant..

Have a look under the passenger seat, Blue box with fuses on. The 119 will have a white kettle lead attached, (hopefully).
Mike.
