I've been told it's perfectly legal to have this mapped out ,has anyone any advice on this.its around £4000 to have this swapped but re-mapping is around £150

I have heard of this being blanked off but, as it's part of the vehicles emissions system, l would be VERY dubious.

It is unlikely to be legal as to remove any emissions device is against the law....but are you even remotely likely to get caught...not in my opinion

If it effects the emission system it is illegal. £4000 to swap out an egr is about 10 times too much. this example only £108 plus 2hrs at £150 =£400 not £4000 somebody is being ecconomical with the truth.

I had the egr replaced on my Mondeo estate a few years ago and I think it cost about £250.
