If you own a Caravan / Motorhome with a EC800 Sargent control panel and it plays up, try this fix.
Remove the black outer cover carefully, then undo the four screws holding it to the wall. In the back you will find two CR2032 batteries. Replace them!
I have looked everywhere and NO ONE MENTIONS the fact it has batteries. I am told this is what keeps the calibration and settings in memory. So to me it makes sense that when you switch your van off, like I do during the storage period, if the batteries are naff, then when you switch it back on, you might find you have to re-calibrate the panel again. I am not saying this works as I have not been able to get to the van till this coming weekend, but the fact that it has batteries, and so many people are having trouble, yet no one mentions this fact. Do they know there are batteries in the back? Also, protecting the front with a plastic bag with silicone gel in it, sealed over the front, just whilst in storage, will also help prevent damp getting into the unit, I am sure this is also responsible for a lot of issues. I hope this is of help to someone out there, happy vanning.
