looks like our electroblok EBL 225 is not charging our leisure battery when on hook up, I’ve seen a couple of complaints online that do repairs, but wondered if anyone had a recommendation for a company to use for a repair/ replacement.
It just seems to be the charger part that’s the issue as all other electrics are happily working.
Any recommendations much appreciated 😊

If it was me, I would buy a new seperate chager; capable of charging lead acid, AGM and lithium.

Probably buy one for the price of a repair. (and simpler)

Doesn't need to be a high powered one as you are probably on EHU for many hours at a time. (overnight?)

While sounds a good idea we would not have a clue how to wire that in 😬 or where to start with what charger to use

Then, I would pay for somebody to fit one, rather than pay for a repair.

Upgrade to lithium, one step at a time.

Yeah we’ve looked at lithium, but we only plan keeping this van for another 18months so the cost is just not worth it.

Then, an ideal time to experiment and learn.

Take the lithium with you.

I would suggest you fit one of these chargers, offgrid will fit it for you as well if required, by the time you've removed your EBL and sent it off for repair or payed someone to remove it, you could have one of these fitted, the turn around on the EBL is likely to be a couple of weeks and you will have to refit it when you get it back.

It's quite easy to disable the existing inbuilt charger, and wire in another new charger. You can disable the existing internal charger by removing the 'Int Charger' fuse.

You can wire the new charger into the socket labelled 'Additional Charger', using a Minifit connector. You'll have to insert a fuse into the 'Add Charger' slot to allow the charge to reach the leisure battery, usually 25A. Note that Pin1 is negative, Pin2 is positive.

If the internal charger has completely failed, then that will also stop the trickle charge to the starter battery. There are several ways round this problem. For example a battery maintainer like a BatteryMaster can be connected between the leisure battery and starter battery, which will trickle-charge the starter battery from the leisure battery. Or you could do what I do and fit a mains-powered battery charger/maintainer like a CTEK or Optimate, which will keep the starter battery topped up properly.

Has anyone followed the 'autorouter' advice to substitute the Lithium-type Charger with Lithium eplacing the AGM. Looks like a risky business for a non-expert - like me!
