Hi guys new to this van, had heater on today for about 90 mins went to start tonite no go , I was plugged in at home any ways of doing it different , when I drove lorries never had a problem regards steve
 
Sounds like it’s wired to starter battery not habitation battery or batteries.is it a retro fitted heater?

Sounds like it's a used van so you don't really have any history on the batteries, may need replacing.
Those diesel heater can take about 10 amp till they get to temperature, so even with EHU connected and knackered batteries the heater could be sucking up all the power off the charger and hence not putting any into the battery. Just my view 👍

The night heater should be supplied from the leisure batterie(s).

I guess when you were driving HGVs the batteries were much larger and could cope with extended use of the heater or had a secondary supply set-up like our vans do. Some heaters were installed with a 30mins timer to limit the use to get around this i.e. BT vans were fitted like this.
