Hello all,

We are away this Easter at Cottington Lakes
Sandwich Road
Sholden
Deal
Kent CT14 0AR

They have very good Fishing Lakes, fishing tackle shop, cafe, basic showers.

The price is £10.00 or £12.00 with electric

It is only a small site not suitable for children or loud music,
but the plus side is its walkable/cyclable to Deal which is a seaside town.

So far the following people will be going

Patsy4 Neil and Pat
Diabalo Dane and Hazel
Red Sonja Sonja and Kevin

We would love other funsters to join us there is another 2 electric plots available, and we could add a further few non electric plots as well.

If interested contact me by pm or this thread.

Regards Pat and Neil

Hello all

We still have one space available for Easter Weekend at Deal. I will have to let the plot go if no one else is interested. Last day to book Monday 6th April 2009.

The site has great fishing lakes, its only a small site, and near the seaside town of Deal in Kent.

Kind regards

Pat and Neil

Have fun Patsy,Sonja,Dane and partners.
Im sure Dane will keep you all laughing

Hi Paul, Nikki, Ash, Lynne, and the crew

Have a fabulous time in Scotland, we would have love to have joined your party, but it was too far for 4 days, thats the trouble of us southerners.

Hope the sunshines and you have fun!!!

Pat and Neil

Hope you have a good weekend - we're at Cottington at the moment and it's dull and misty. Beware the ehu - reduced to less than 6 amp since our last visit.

Great news, glad you can make it:thumb:

Did anyone mention first timers have to buy the beer:Rofl1:

Are you bringing Snowy?

Looking forward to meeting you Tintin.

Will you be fishing, there is a fishing tackle shop on site and I think they sell fishing licenses too.

There are a couple of us who are not fishing and are there to chill.

Regards Pat

Hi Tintin

Looking forward to seeing you there. Even if it rains I'm sure we will be fine. We will put up the Safari room and squeeze everyone in.

Not sure you will get a fishing licence from the tackle shop, you can get them on line from the Enviroment agency.

It is only a small site not suitable for children or loud music,

The site isn't small, almost 60 pitches and has no restrictions on children ..In fact it's advertised on one review as having fishing for youngsters .. so why not just say it's an adult only meet ?

Or am I looking at the wrong site ?

Probably the most south-easterly fishery of its size in the UK, Cottington Lakes has established itself as one of the region's leading day-ticket and camping/caravaning holiday venues with five lakes which offer a variety of angling to suit everyone from youngsters to specimen carp enthusiasts.

Hi Jim

Not a adults only meet as we are going

I looked at a review on Campsite UK and it said "Not suitable for Children" Not sure what they mean by that though, maybe its because they have no play equipment there.
I have never been before and dont have any problem with children going and I'm sure the others havent either. Are you thinking of joining us, would be nice to see you again.

Only one person in this house wears a romper and it aint Kevin :shout:

Jim Where are you at the moment and wheres the CL.

Hi Jim

Sorry I just saw your posts.

It was me that said it wasnt suitable for children. Because firstly a review from Jan on UK campsite saying it was not suitable for children.

I have been to the site, and there is nothing for children, it also said no ball games or children cycling, that was about 18 months. Then they only had 26 plots. They have a nice small CL to one side which is a lovely spot, but when we were there was a bit boggy, also a few trucks passing along it from a gravel pit or something, a little noisy and dusty then.

When I was there I got the impression that children werent invited. I am not anti children, because I would have loved to have taken my small grandson with me. The link you sent me to the site is the correct one, but looks like it has just been updated.

Its a shame you couldnt have joined us.

Hi Sonja

We're in Colchester, The Lodge CL, close to town, about 2ml but set in the country side, lovely and peaceful. Some pics in my album 'Back in the UK CLs.'
If you or anyone else would like to visit PM me and I'll check for space, we are full over the Easter holidays ..

Hi Pat

My apologies for jumping to conclusions and misunderstanding your post.
thanks for explaining ..
I have no issue with meets being organised for specific groups, be it adult, family, singles etc .. I understand not everyone enjoys kids about ..

Sorry we can't be there, hope you have a great w/e and the weather is kind ..

Jim

Hello from Deal

Hello all from Sunny Deal

4 of us arrived Thursday pm, and we managed to sit about in the sun for a few hours, sinking a few beers.

Got up to a lovely bright day, decided to giving fishing a miss and are just about to go for a cycle.

Tin tin, not sure when you are arriving, but we are on plots 3/4 so if we are not about catch up with us later, if you want you can park on the hardstanding in front of the 3/4 post, but there is not electric, tell the reception that you are with the Hay party. Sorry didnt know what name you booked under.

Hope everyone is having a great Easter.

Hi All

We had such a fantastic fun hot Easter weekend.

We had such a Blast, and laughed and laughed (mainly at our expense)!!!!

The blue bar (our dome) saw lots of action, drinking and fun, and general chilling.

Yes I won the fishing competition (if you could call it that, Dane, Hazel, and Neil, didnt put up much of a fight). Thanks you very much for my trophy, I will put that with the rest of my trophies.:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Thanks to you all for making it such a great weekend, its a shame it had to end, but then again it was such a LONG WEEKEND!!!!!:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Deal meet.

Hi every one,
just like to say a big thank you to all the funsters at cottington lakes,
you made me feel very welcome indeed,
my first trip in the MH & MHfun, what a happy memorable weekend,

I found out why the gas boiler did'nt ignite on the second day,
the gas diffuser is rotted out at both ends,
should be able to get a new one though,
although with metalworking & welding it should be like new.:thumb:

thanks for the beers & advice, they went down a treat.

regards

Hi all, as you know we stayed another day, the sun was out at 10.20 today, wish we could have stayed another week. Zoe was a bit shocked this morning when I let her out the door :Eek!: she had no one to bark at. When we got back to the site last night it was dark, and that Blue Dome Tent had gone and it was really quiet  we had a great weekend and could not have wished for better company and weather. nice to meet tin tin and he took Danes advice and brought the drinks. :Rofl1: thanks Pat cant wait till the next one.:thumb: Bob and Jane.

Hi Bob and Jane

Yes, I would have loved to stay longer in that lovely sunshine, we left at 5pm after having a day in the sunshine. It must have seemed quiet without us all.

I have bought the lottery tickets for Friday, so a bit of luck our luck will hold.

Regards
Pat and Neil
