Rally EASTER AT AVON BANK MEADOWS, WYRE PIDDLE, PERSHORE 13th-20th APRIL 2022

This is an unashamed plug aka, a bump to this thread to bring this rally to the attention of all Funsters, particularly those who may have not been on a Fun Rally before.

Just for once, (a space is as rare as rocking horse poo) we have vacancies at the rally, over Easter, at Avon Bank Meadows, Wyre Piddle, Pershore, Worcestershire.
All the details of the event are on the Opening page of this thread. You are guaranteed a warm welcome on a beautiful site, beside the River Avon.
If it floats your boat, all you have to do is ask.
Regards

This is but one of the events that is taking place in Pershore over the Easter period.

King George Field is across the water meadows from Avon Bank and is beside the River Avon.

The day Pershore goes quackers! (With Apologies to Quackers at Old Sodbury)

This popular annual event will take place on King George's Field on Easter Sunday, April 17th.
Duck tickets will be on sale throughout the town in the weeks leading up to the event and also on the day.
The first set of ducks will line up for a 2pm

Burgers and hot dogs will be available and The Riverside Youth Centre will be open for refreshments.

I wonder if any funsters will be "buying" a duck?

Right, all you 'Fair weather' Funsters.

I've ordered the weather, :sun::sun::sun:(Thomas Shafanacker said this morning it would be 'cracking the flags,' Yorkshire for 'Warm' at Easter.

We've got good company:drinks:

We've got the free drinks in for all

We've ordered the complimentary Hot X Buns,(There isn't an emoji for that)

We've got the better alternative to an Easter Egg, (and you regulars know what that is!)

We've got a great riverside location with EHU within a short walk to a Pub, (new owners) that serves Good Food.

and still, after all that;

WE'VE STILL GOT SOME SPACE???

Want to come? It's not too late.

Send me a message on here.

Yorkshire? that's a long way from Pershore Derek.

You can take the Tyke out of Yorkshire,
but you can't make him talk 'foreign'
It'll always be 'Crackin' the flags.'

For non Tykes, 'Crackin' the flags' means that it's warm enough to cause the York stone pavements to break. (Wishful thinking!!!)

I've posted this on the Conversation for the Rally but,
for the information of those who didn't attend.

Greetings,

Now that you all, (well, most of you,) have departed for pastures anew
it is time for me to chip in.

First of all, massive thanks must go to Malcolm and Theresa for taking
on the challenge of being Chief Cook and Bottlewashers to this event plus John and
Brenda for stepping up to the plate at the last minute, (literally). to act as their assistants.

We're glad the weather did as ordered and was behaving itself.

We'd like to thank you all for turning up as being parked in a field on your own
can be a soul destroying experience. If you were thinking, like me, that the Funsters
who didn't come were the ones that missed out, then it must have been good.

I apologise to all those who were hoping to raid our bookstall. Circumstances denied
us the opportunity of putting up the Quest and getting the books out.

Nevertheless, and despite the absence of sales of books and only having one Bonus Ball,
I am very pleased to inform you all that I will be sending off a Cheque in the sum of;
£268!!! to Prostate Cancer UK. Can I thank all of you who donated, participated and
brought and bought raffle prizes and tickets. It's a remarkable sum of money.

Once again, Thank you and hopefully we will see many of you at Topsham Rugby Club
next month.

Shameless plug. We do have some, (not a lot)! of space at Topsham. If you would like to attend,
send me a Conversation.

Kindest Regards

Derek and Mary aka Emmit
