Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help please. We have accidentally put E85 instead of Ad-blue. We are currently in France close to Foix. We drive a Adria fiat Ducati motorhome, 2024. The vehicle still drives , we have been to a local Fiat dealer in Pampiers yesterday and advised that it would take 7 days and they wanted us to leave the van on site. They also said that it needed parts , but we been told by a friend that to drain the fluid is quite a simple job. We decided to find a campsite yesterday and try a local garage , however they said they couldn't do it and it was dangerous to drive it. Our lack of French hasn't helped, we definitely should be more eager to learn. We are looking for any advice or help which would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

To clarify, you've put E85 in the AdBlu tank of your Ducato ?

The garage is telling you it is dangerous to drive and they are giving you good advice.
Adblue is injected into your exhaust system. I am not an expert, but if it was me I wouldn't want highly flammable ethanol/petrol mix injected into the hot exhaust system!
If you are struggling with French, my daughter lives in Toulouse and is fluent in French. I may be able to get her to help you .

Just had a quick Google and these methods of draining tank come up,
I would imagine the E85 will be floating on top of the ad blue so you've been very lucky!

Big syringe and a piece if hose to suck it out.

Remove drain plug,if you can find it

Not sure about the last one but remove the feed pipe from the ad blue injector put a bit of hose on it to an empty container and let the engine pump it out!

As Rb62 say the E85 will be floating on top

Sealey TP9312 Oil or Diesel Transfer Pump 12Volt or similar

Take a picture and try frenchpod 101 which is vehicle specific french app for parts etc and have a hunt if you are near hypermarket type places and pump it out till you get ad blue then re fill with the right stuff

Nobody so far has asked how much E85 did you put in.? Was it just a litre or two before you realised or did you brim the tank? I think any professional seeking to help you will want to know that.

If the petrol has gone through the adblue system it could possibly damage components so I would advise not driving. (plus the danger of very flammable petrol being injected into the hot exhaust gases)

If you are lucky enough for petrol not having gone through the system yet you need to not run the engine and work out away of draining it all out.

Depending on amount put in I would syphon out as much as you can.refill to the brim with adblue then syphon it all out again & throw away , then refill & brim it again

As above. Get yourself a syphon. The Chinese shops will sell them and pump the tank out. Refill with adblue and repeat.
Best of luck.
Ps if you can't do it yourself ask on the campsite for anyone handy that can help

Thanks so much for your kind offer . I think Toulouse is quite a distance from us. But I appreciate your response.
