At least someone is looking at the DVLA inefficiencies so something might come of it.

FH yes, not sure about the WAre they also still WFH?
I do think it will get better and not because it couldn’t possibly get any worse. This committee has highlighted the problem and this came about by being raised in parliament and attracting more press interest.Another look at it but it will be a long time before anything gets better.
You can’t drive under section 88 abroad as I found out. it does put the onus on you.Article implied they were back to normal. My medical condition cleared by consultant last October, license should have restarted beginning of December. Still waiting despite applying before date. It’s DVLA doctors I’m told.
Have a letter from them saying I can drive in meantime if I’m happy I comply with section 88, not convinced friendly foreign police would agree
Been waiting since October! DVLA not fit for purpose. At least someone is looking at the DVLA inefficiencies so something might come of it.

They actually told me Medical is good till 2025 but still asked for a doctor to fill out a form ? They paid for it, but why?I have been through it three time’s couldn’t agree more, last time five months.
It will improve as it cannot be ignored along with possible changes to license requirements that are coming through.
will
If I needed it for an HGV job I'd be bankrupt now! They actually told me Medical is good till 2025 but still asked for a doctor to fill out a form ? They paid for it, but why?
there are no 'medical doctors ' assisting the dvla.It is a panel of lay knifehands who "assess" the information. The only "medical" evidence is what you provide & interpreted by committeeIt’s DVLA doctors I’m told.
Good tip. It worked!A heads up if you want to contact the DVLA via phone call.
They are open on Saturday mornings if you phone at exactly 8.00am your call will be answered, their phone lines switch on automatically but do take the time off your Smart Phone or similar to get the time bang on.
When l had problems l could not get through during the week.
I wouldn't trust ours to navigate me across the road (even if he could be bothered).Any number of folk with medical licences on the Diabetes UK forum I infest, have involved their MPs when it all gets silly. Some have the tenacity of the proverbial terrier down a ferret hole and get results but others don't. However - got to be worth an email to yours if it's a problem to you.
There really isn’t anything wrong with working from home, modern systems are as efficient at home as they are in an office.Presume they will go on strike too. But will anyone notice?
Are they also still WFH?
Seems to be more efficient now…….applied on-line to renew licence on 15th April, received new licence in the post today (20th).

This is because there are no people involved in either of your renewals & weekends don't count for computers either..I applied online on Friday for a change of address on my licence. Used the same photo and used my passport no for verification. Arrived 4 days later. Quite impressed when 2 of those days were the weekend!
hmm, I applied January 2022, although they have confirmed I can have my license they yesterday informed me that they have destroyed my photo because of the length of time it took to process the application,Seems to be more efficient now…….applied on-line to renew licence on 15th April, received new licence in the post today (20th).
