My dealer has sent off the required correspondence to dvla to get our new Knaus registered weeks a go.
We still have not received V5 so far its cost me a deposit in Devon and soon another deposit on another trip. My dealership have Emailed dvla twice now to chase it up but have had no response. Is there anything i can to to speed this up.

If you know the reg number look on is my vehicle taxed, if the reg shows on there is registered even if you don’t have the V5 back yet. If its reg you can tax it online. Ours was showing as registered four weeks before we got the log book back

I did 2 holidays before my MH appeared on the DVLA website. I'd had it sitting on the drive since mid March. It was April and I wasn't letting anything stop me escape the winter lockdown!

Whats ridiculous is that if dealers registered it online it's all automatic and would appear the next day - paper copy arrives in 3/4 days.

What is it with Motorhome dealerships that they don't do this?

The dealer should have had a selection of number plates they then assign one to your van. The DVLA need to know what your registration is before they can register it. We have bought four brand new vans since 2003 all have had a number plate so the DVLA can register them. The last one Sept 2019 I new the number plate as I had to provide a certificate of insurance before it could be taxed. It was delivered to me on trade plates as there was a delay then in getting it registered. I just kept checking and as soon as it appeared on the database off we went.

Only if they sell enough to be on that system.Otherwise they have to send it all in by post & wait for a registration number to be allocated.Until it is allocated it cannot be used on the road.

It will have a registration number though surely? I knew mine before it was registered. It will appear on the website before you get the physical document so will be legal to drive from that point. You can check it here:

Hi V just checked with the dealership and have been told that our knaus does not have a Reg number.
Andcthey sent paperwork to the dvla over 3 weeks a go so its just awaiting game. Our friend races Motorbikes he got a new van to carry his race bikes around the tracks and has been informed his will be registered mid Sept and he purchased his before us. He will be losing race points.
