I have had a C1 since 1997 and it is no my driving license that was issued in 2018 when i was 60 , but 3 months ago I sold my house and moved to a flat so told DVLA who sent me a new license with new address , but C1 is missing ,

So called them and they said sorry and they will reinstate it ,, but today i got letter saying that C1 was revoked on medical grounds in 2010 ?? clearly wrong , as 2018 license has C1.

So I ask how long this will take to sort out they say 6-12 months minimum as its the DVLA medical dept that has messed up????

Im furious as I saw a nice 2012 HYMER today but is 4500kg ,

Did you take a photo as proof of your old licence and it takes time for DVLA to sort it, they are slow as snails.

And did or have you asked them what medical grounds?

That's seriously annoying. Is it worth writing to your MP and explaining the problem and asking for their help?

Yes I sent them a copy of old license ,,, But DVLA insist it cannot be handled as a mistake and must be referred to Medical section,,,, and the earliest they can be contacted is 3 weeks and then it will take a minimum of 6 months due to Backlog ,,

I recall a story of a police motorcyclist. Sent his license off and they did a new one with no motorbike entitlement !!!!
Even the police force had a job to get that sorted... So good luck. (y)

Keeping a copy is always the best option, same with passport.

Can they produce evidence of the revocation and you being informed in 2010? If they allege that was the case they should have a record of that separate from the Medical Dept.

I would be inclined to drive on the 2018 C1 licence and keep correspondence handy. That will probably satisfy UK Police but Continental ones might be a problem.
