Cambersands, council car park & £30 all day. No overnighting.Someone just told me it’s £12 dawn til dusk and £20 for motorhomes.
I did recently £25 for the day and that was I a City car park.Don't even think of looking at the cost of central London parking!
Finsbury Square in central London is £34 for 24hrs @ NCP.Don't even think of looking at the cost of central London parking!

Privately owned and they can do what they like. People always have a choice and many appear to be totally ok with the car parking charges. Good point about motorhome parking as well.Just looked it's £20 for a car all day at that rate £30 for a motorhome doesn't sound unreasonable most are going to take at least two spaces
It makes the locals that sold the houses to outsiders at prices other locals couldn’t afford richer.Homes purchased in Skye and the western isle turning them in to Airbnb does nothing for the locals
York park and ride is superb. And yet in towns the park and ride that are getting everywhere now are fantastic , last week we went to York , parked up for the day and got a bus right to the centre for £1.30 each with bus pass , same in Whitby.
Who sold the properties to become air bnb’s in these places???Homes purchased in Skye and the western isle turning them in to Airbnb does nothing for the locals

People want to park up with a nice view in the middle of things free and stay all day sadly it's far from a realistic expectationAnd yet in towns the park and ride that are getting everywhere now are fantastic , last week we went to York , parked up for the day and got a bus right to the centre for £1.30 each with bus pass , same in Whitby.
Yes…. True, that.People want to park up with a nice view in the middle of things free and stay all day sadly it's far from a realistic expectation
As prices rise the locals cannot afford the properties and no not after a fast buck. Wages are low and life is hard an incommmer can easily afford to out bid a local. Go and live on Harris and see what life is really like.Who sold the properties to become air bnb’s in these places???
Oh right….. the locals after a fast buck.
Love it when things are simplified,It makes the locals that sold the houses to outsiders at prices other locals couldn’t afford richer.
It is simple really, there are not many people who would reject a higher offer on their property unless they wished to pass it on to family, or very close friends perhaps, that's human nature and perhaps buying a property as well as being a home for someone may also be funding their pension, so as we live in a free market economy it is what it is. I do have sympathy for those that want to live in the area they grew up in but it is up to them to earn sufficiently well to be able compete with people from other places, the alternative is a communist system where all property is owned by the state and handed out on a needs basis, is that a solution that the majority of British people would prefer? Personally I don’t think so.Love it when things are simplified,

I have a Cornish bred nephew and two nieces who having been to university and experienced the far greater opportunities, salaries and vibrant lifestyle up country had no wish to return to a future living in Cornwall.I do have sympathy for those that want to live in the area they grew up in but it is up to them to earn sufficiently well to be able compete with people from other places,
But at least they have several very good park and rides as an alternative. Both in private ownership. Their land, they decide the charges. Wouldn't really fancy taking a motorhome down to either. Parking a car in central Cambridge now cost over £33 for 5 hours.
