I have a 2015 Ducato chassis (not Alko) on my Burstner and no spare wheel. I'd like to fit a spare wheel carrier and note a lot of holes under the chassis where one was likely fitted. But these have no captive nuts. I'm assuming the latest Fiat spare wheel carrier will fit but what do I need as "nuts" for the fixing bolts to screw into? Has anyone actully done this. I see several posts from people asking the same question but no results.

I assume I need something like this:

You will need to make sure its suitable for your wheel size -there are 15" and 16" variations-they don't fit one another( 15" for 15" wheels etc). The one shown also needs the nutserts to fit your chassis.

If you contact @Techno100 he may be able to assist in sourcing you a genuine fiat carrier at a great price

He has a thread on the forum showing how to fit etc

I assume that all modern ones are the improved type.

I emailed the seller of the one I linked to. He said it will suit both 15 and 16 inch wheels. Is that possible?

I learned that X290 have the same PCD for 15 &16 so yes and I believe it is 118 but have not yet evidenced that.

The price is a steal

Looks nice Andy. I believe a friend of mine (camoyboy over on the dark side) made something similar for his Alko.

Carrier ordered up. Only one left now! Just got to get a rim (got a tyre from lenny on here)

Yes I hosted the pictures for him. Looks considerably heavier than mine sub 12kg
This must be twice that

Went under the chassis last night. Several round holes and two groups of hex holes. No captive nuts in any of them. Currently trying to find out if I can get them from Fiat but they are a bit puzzled as they haven't been asked before!

its a complete kit with all the nutserts etc but if you review it is specific for either 15" or 16". Just read the sellers comments below the item.

@Techno100 I see the one on Ebay that was mentioned here earlier (and I bought one) does not have the crossbar section and the winder mechanism (of the one above) is of a slightly different design. So is Ebay one actually an old model not really designed for motorhomes ? the guy on ebay claimed it was off a 2015 pug ????? I am a bit confused!

I imagine one is for a flat bed chassis and one for a panel van
