My insurance company is looking for confirmation that my Malibu Van based on a 2024 Ducato has a Thatcham category 2 Immobiliser. It has a remote key fob.

The Fiat manual is absolutely hopeless. Any clues as to how I can find out?

Thatcham lists suppliers of “approved” security equipment but I cannot see any reference to what vehicle manufacturers fit as standard.

I was wrong it's from 2002.
From the Thatcham site.

Thanks, folks. Hopefully, that’s enough for the insurance company. Incredible that the Fiat manual doesn’t have a specification page where this might be listed.

Have a look here

Now that's interesting.
My Fiat based A-Class doesn't have van-type doors obviously, and I have to manually lock/unlock the driver side and hab door. I have the Fiat key with 2 buttons which flash the indicator lights when I press either button but don't unlock doors. Would I be right in thinking that the imobiliser fitted as original by Fiat would still be activated by the key buttons? I guess I could try it by pressing the lock button and see if I could still start it just never thought about it before :LOL:
I have a Strikeback fitted as well so don't use the non-operative lock/unlock buttons on the key.

A Fiat Cat 2 immobiliser doesn’t use key/fob buttons, it works from a chip built into the key which is read by the ignition lock when the key is inserted. The key/fob buttons are usually for the central locking but in some cases may also cancel/set alarm functions.
