Hi

I have read somewhere in the forum a lot about this infernal buzzer, can anyone confirm that if all else fails can you simply disconnect it. That is of course if everything is working correctly as it was in our case.
We managed to stop the thing by disconnecting the main battery for 15 seconds, this seem to reset the system but as we are off on an extended trip I was just wondering
if i can simply disconnect the thing.
Any Idea

Do you mean the buzzer warning you the hab step has not retracted?
Hi

Good question, seems that thing may operate for differing items, eg step as you say, water pump and possibley more. All of these were operating fine when the buzzer started to sound.
Vehicle starts , runs , drives fine and all habitation lights, heating as you say step etc all function correectly.

Not sure where to go from then apart from resorting to a wire cutter. We did manage to turn the ting off as I say by disconnecting the main battery and it only now sounds for several seconds when you turn the ignition on but when you start the engine it switches off.
Any idea would help.

Many Thanks
Alan

Has it got automatic transmission? If so the buzzer is to warn you either the transmission isn't where the gear lever would lead you to suspect or you've left it 'in gear' (ie with clutch under pressure) too long. Knock it into neutral & back to drive when you're ready to drive.

Alternatively, mine used to go off as part of the alarm system. Usually triggered by side door not shutting properly, or a loose wire preventing the correct information reaching the buzzer's 'brain'.

I had the whole system removed.

Hi
Many thanks for the suggestion, I had meant to put a post on the system today but as a newbie, or at least that's what I think we new members are termed I am not that quick. To all those who suggested the "The Step" in a nutshell your right. Whilst the step functioned correctly part of the loom leading to the switch was damaged and as a result the switch was not making or breaking the circuit.
Well at lewast hats where I am with it at present. many thanks to all who replied it very much appreciated.

Take care all

Steps can be a mixed blessing. You might be interested in this thread: https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/near-miss-i-am-an-idiot.242457/
