Trying to get the seat off a Ducati (Adria SGX) to fit shunt. Front torx screw came off fine but the rear two won’t budge (had an hour of gt85 too). Worried they will round (nearest one showing signs). Any tips for removal?
1/2 socket ? Been using 1/4. I’ve only tried one side, but a success rate of 1/3 is disappointing…

Are you sure you are using the correct size torx key? Too small will fit and seem good but when they are tight they soon start to round off as seen in your photos.

Rear one looks like it has a nut behind, but the front one seems to be difficult to access..

Thanks - might be next option. Or leave to a more qualified person…
Once I get it out it’s going to need a replacement…

Are they aguti seats? On our dethleffs it was 4 bolts to take the whole seat off no torx in sight.
Torx are taking over the world.
I was fixing our upright hoover and that is held together with torx screws.... But these were security torx with a center pin.
The bit has a hole in the center....regular bits wont fit.
WHY? ITS A BLOODY HOOVER.

Things have moved on.

I’ve just had to buy a set of
5point security pentalobe bits

I thought it was a Torx security at first but couldn’t get any of my stuff to work, then found out it’s five recesses not six and the centre pin bigger.

You need a hand impact driver with a torx bit fitted.

Are you sure you are using the correct size bit. In your 3rd pic it doesn’t look like a tight fit, and shows damage to the other heads as force being applied to the wrong part?
