I love the Multistrada. Very nearly traded by GS in for one.

And the other Twin was on my shortlist of 6m vans earlier this year. But we decided to brave it and try an a-class.

I have a Multistrada V4s arriving next month after deciding the GSA had to go. Loved the test ride. Looking forward to the first trip away.

Yeah, the 1260 engine is great.
158bhp with quick shift up and down, skyhook suspension etc.

As for the vans, I did look at A class and Coach built but decided to go for the PVC Sgx.
1st van so we'll see how things go.

Great bike the V4s.

Maybe something for the future, no room in my garage , also have a 748 Sps and a ST4s.

Enjoy the V4s when it arrives,

Ally

How are you carrying the bike?
Will be touring either in the van or on the bike.
Limited to what the Sgx can carry size wise. Weight , height and width are okay, length of the bikes are the problem.
Would probably trailer the Multi if I go down that route , we'll see.

Ally

I've also got the Multistrada grand tour, fantastic bike, all day comfort and perfect for 2 up touring.
I've also just bought this for the van (the scooter, not the missus), scooter rack being fitted next week 😎

What scooter rack are you having fitted, post up some photo's after it's been fitted please.

Just had the Ist annual service on the Multi done yesterday, 29th July, £292.!!, nothing cheap with Ducati's

Hi Ally,

It's a watling scooter rack, they couldn't fit it until end of August/early Sept so I got them to post it to me and I've got a local towbar chap fitting towbar and electrics next week. Had a look at others but as the scooter weighs less than 100kg and I use a towbar for other stuff too I thought this was the way to go. I'll post a picture once it's on the van.

Had my multi serviced at Ducati Cambridge - the first one (600 miles) and It was around £130 but I think it's just an oil service mainly.
There's a new place in Grantham who did my mates multistrada annual last week and he says they're much cheaper, (Ducati approved so warranty etc still good) so I'll be using them next time.

We've got the ferry booked for Spain September 14th on the bike, first big tour on it, I can't wait 👍

Hello Steve,

Thanks for the info, I might fit a tow bar sometime in the future.

The Multi service was done at Ducati Glasgow ( now part of the Ducati Manchester group ), the 600 mile service was £225.

My plan was to hit Europe this year, however it looks like I will wait until next year.

I'm sure you will have a great time on tour

Remembered to take some pics of the bike on the rack at the weekend. It was ace being able to leave the van pitched up and have a day out on the bike exploring the Severn estuary. Really happy with the rack and makes zero difference to the way the van drives.
I made a seat clamp for the rack as I wasn't happy with just the straps. Bike didn't move at all 👍

Two great machines, I'm sure you'll enjoy them both. My Dukes are a '73 350 Scrambler, a '77 900 GTS and a '05 749R. Cheers.

Hello Colin,

Two classic bikes you have there, the 749R will be a future classic, don't see many going about.

Hi Ally,
You're correct there, the 749R is the world supersports homologation version with all the racy bits already added, first owner was Chris "Stalker" Walker.
