Having the van's first service tomorrow at Thomsetts in Stockbury, Kent. Heard good things about them on here and hoping all will go well (the old/young girl has only done 7.5k miles since we picked her up in July '22). However, initially I decided to have them replace the oil, oil filter, brake fluid and fuel filter only, thinking I would do the air and cabin filter (how hard could that be?!). I've seen a few YouTube clips of both filters being changed and it seemed fairly easy (although I also believe Wolverines would make good house pets!) so I purchased both filters for what seemed like a reasonable £28 and got stuck in to changing the air filter first. When I say stuck in I mean I opened the bonnet, looked in and went 'Ah!'. Things have obviously changed a little under the bonnet of newer Ducatos. I was expecting to see jubilee clips but was confronted by these:

They look like they should be prised apart with a screwdriver but my concern was whether a specific tool would be needed to fit them back again. I didn't want to risk removing the pipework from the filter housing unless I could be certain of refitting them again. Does anyone know what these type of clips are called and how they are removed and re-fitted? Putting aside that disappointment I moved onto the cabin filter. Once again, things have moved on a little from previous Ducatos. Whilst I was able to remove the three screws (I hope there weren't more hidden) that hold the lower centre consol in position, I couldn't seem to remove the console itself. Another concern was the usb port in the middle of the console (it wasn't fitted in the YouTube clip I saw). Does anyone know if this needs to be prised put of position and the connector removed first or should the whole lower console come away with this in place?:

Scuppered then on both fronts and now Thomsetts will be doing the full service. Thoughts on above priblems most welcome.

Hi if you have not got the pliers a small plain screwdriver in the clip hole will prise it free. And if careful side cutter will squeeze it back into place . Most probably there will be sufficient cable to gain access to unplug usb port

Thanks, but are you saying I don't need to try and remove the usb socket first, that there should be sufficient cable to allow me to remove the entire lower console section?

Not done the air filter yet, but cabin filter took about 45 mins having never done it before.

Junk the factory fit clip once off and fit your own reusable clip, 🤷‍♂️ There must be enough free cable on the back of the USB connector to allow fitting, carry on and remove.

Hi

I've changed the glove for a cup holder and and cup holder for a glove box

The cabin filter in behind the in the center console, tor screws and a few bolts hold it in place and just need to keep taking the parts out like this...
