Be careful in winter our bedding went mouldy as no air flow. Better to lower it down.

How big is this bed , classic pillar, doric, roman, greek
Anyway we keep duvet sheets pillows and an extra matress topper on the bed.
If you have a microscope or microswitch (swell check) trigged by a moving thingy add a spacer and it will trigger early, giving more space above bed but less headroom.

We've got a Dethleffs. No problem at all winding it up with the kids on. Makes the van a bit top heavy round bends though
