Driving permits needed for Europe in case of a no deall Brexit

I have bought several IDP’s for trips outside the EU on advice, sadly I have to report that whenever offered to border guards in places like Senegal, Gambia, and Albania they have shown zero interest let alone open one and stamp it. Our normal U.K. driving licence seems to do the trick, and I suspect this will continue.

I am in the ‘ be prepared’ group, so I looked at the post office site last night. The PO are the only way of getting a IDP. There is not a post office in North Yorkshire on the list. You have to apply in person, so our nearest is central Leeds, Hull or Middlesbrough!!!!! If we need to go down the route of needing one, what is the betting of the PO being able to process them on the day we make the journey.
I hope I have made a mistake and not read the website correctly.

Should you need one the transaction takes about five minutes once you get to the counter. A phone call to your selected P. O. To check they hold stock might be a good idea as you have to travel.

For me a P is 1,000 miles away. When they decided to stop postal applications they must have forgot people overseas.

I have just read Articulo 22. Permisos de conduccion published by the Spanish Government which says that for 9 months after the U.K. leaves the EU they will recognise the existing driving licence.

So no IDP needed for either France or Spain before the end of this year.(y)

You mention France but where have they said they will accept for the rest of the year?

Here you go:

Artículo 22. Permisos de conducción.

Thanks.
So the way I read it is that you get 9 months "grace" when we leave.
I wonder does that mean 9 months ( instead of the supposed 21 months transition with a deal ) or 9 months either way.
Who knows!
