Silly question I know but...Does it have to be a drive away awning or can it be a porch awning type that you just slip off and then drive off?
Dont need abuse or anything that may not be useful please! Trying to ascertain as to whether or not one is better than another?

We have both. If you want to use your van and leave an awning behind it really has to be drive away. They tend to have support at the rear whereas a normal awning relies on the van to support the rear. A drive away has a ‘side’ at the rear to seal off the opening.
Have you considered a Quest Pro with the tunnel?

Hi David ad Sally. No if I am being honest? Quest pro ? will look at one on Google thanks for that.

This sort of thing?
Sorry, your links notty worky.
It is a Quest House that has a tunnel to link it to an awning rail.

But attach height might be a problem on a tall, camper

A trip down to Attwoolls might be needed. Not too far from you. Day out?

Kev, when we go away with my cousin he has a 330 air awning and it’s great in the evening when it’s a little chilly, and with the awning light and others it’s well lit, we however have a quest pro, it’s great for daytime use and for cooking in etc but I’d rather be in our kids awning at night time 👍👍

Cheers Ade. Im possibly swinging towards an Air awning to be honest. Just thought it best to ask a question before we jumped !!

Kev

PS....Your truck looks awesome bud! Been looking at the thread with the bits and pieces you have added, really nice....Im just too poor now ! Hey oh! (y):giggle:;)

We tend to use a Coleman event shelter. Easy to put up and you can open or close any side to suit where you need shelter

Thanks for that both. Are there any issues when on site? So many places now state that a gazebo is not allowed? Does the Coleman come into that category would you think?

We have been to several sites that don’t allow gazebos unless they are attached to the van. Morris Leisure, one in St Davids, some CMC sites.
If you want to pitch up, erect an awning and the drive off you need a drive away.
