Can I ask if it is considered bad form to visit a campsite shower block in the morning in one's pyjamas? Only my partner did it in Moreton-in-Marsh last week and felt like someone attending a funeral in fancy dress. Just wondering.

Shorts, T shirt and flip flops for me. Moreton is a C&MC site, some time ago there was a "shocked" letter concerning ladies in their pj's traipsing through sites. They need to get a life. My wife just throws a dressing gown on, and we've seen some sights on French sites

Pair of swimming shorts and a towel at the moment here in Benidorm, same swimmers and a light fleece when it cools off.
Cheers
Ed

Dressing gown, and change when back in the privacy and comfort of the van. I have a fetching towelling one in shocking pink, that refuses to wear out. I have photos of it all over Europe and the UK!

I meant with me in it, that sounded as if I take pictures of it wherever I go, like a teddy or something.

I always wander to the shower block and back in pyjama shorts and t-shirt. In reality they are no different to ordinary shorts and t-shirt.

Should one dress for dinner on C&MC sites if PJ's are not acceptable at breakfast time?

Perhaps Morning Dress for elevenses?

Thanks for all the good advice, you know I thought there was something a bit butyonef-up and suburban about the Moreton campsite. Ian, you are a pioneer and a prophet of shower block dressing, I salute your work in the field. I think i'm going to get a sturdy dressing-gown with a secure belt. Maybe in an inconspicuous colour though.

I don’t think anyone cares to be honest.

I personally wouldn’t go dressed in a dressing gown with just pants on underneath but lots of people do.

I prefer to go fully dressed, get all hot trying to get my clothes back on and emerging with enormous wet patches where I didn’t dry myself properly. Oh and wet shoes and socks because I left them on the floor too close to the shower curtain.

But that’s just me.

I think some care Chris, have you ever wandered onto the CAMC forum? I can only handle it for short periods, some take it all tooooo seriously:LOL:

Don't shower in the morning! :)

By then, loads of dirty campers will have used the facilities and rubbed smelly cleaning aids across them, contaminated with detritus from other cubicles IF you are lucky. (n)

IF you are unlucky, the mess will have just been left.

Wait until the block has been cleaned (lunchtimeish) and go along moderately fully dressed, but using clogs and bare feet rather than shoes and socks. :sneaky:
Take clean clothes with you in a bag with a handle.
Hang the bag on a hook, get undressed (having closed and locked the door first), enjoy yourself and emerge with a clean body in a clean cubicle.
Pull on your clean clothes, clear up your stuff and away you go, ready for the rest of the day (week/month?) (y)

IF you're going out for the day, try to shower at teatime: whether you put PJs on for the evening is up to you.

Oh Good Heavens - they have a forum?

oh yes, quite heavily moderated too, unlike the wonderful world of Fun:LOL:

Think the last time I looked in someone was complaining that it was the increase in motorhome owners that had caused the problem of not being able to book many sites over a weekend:confused:, I've been a member for around 25 yrs and it's always been the case:rolleyes: personally I think they have only themselves to blame by not taking deposits on booking but what do I know....

and I'd go to the shower block in my pjs by the way.....:D

I shower regularly, twice a year, once in summer and once in winter, whether I need it or not.
Never though, in site showers as we have a very expensive (but underused) shower in the MoHo.
Why would you wander round the site in dressing gowns or whatever when most have pretty luxurious and clean showers in the van.
Bonkers!
Tin hat on and awaiting incoming.

Richard.

There is no dress code, wear whatever you are comfortable with. A couple of cheap plastic overdoor hooks are a useful addition to your wash bag.

If I’ve paid for a campsite with facilities I’m certainly going to have a long shower taking my time to get shampoo into my thick hair, requires 2 goes at it, then conditioning and lots of rinsing. There is not enough water in our tank!

I also use my shower if wilding or its raining, but its nice not to have to fetch the water, heat it, and then drain it away again. Happy to toddle off in my dressing gown and matching pink crocs. I don't even like pink that much. Too tight to buy a new one, until it wears out. I suspect I will be buried or cremated in it!

true, they are but I've lost count how many I've forgotten to bring back from the shower:rolleyes:

Do whatever you feel happy with....

some people are too prudish unlike the Europeans where sometimes it’s enjoyable and other times you just can’t erase that image from your mind....

We get entertainment from observing the variety of dress, and weather conditions , that are faced by the forlorn users of these facilities especially when they are walking to and from a multi-thousand value "motorHOME" , that isn't being utilised as such,
"there's nowt as queer as folk".
