Well travelled
Checked the Hymer over, pre MOT all okay.

Something must have gone wrong on the way (15 mile run) as neither front DRL's or indicators are working. Headlights are okay as are rear indicators (flashing really quickly though) and rear lights are okay.

So looks like I need the replacement wiring harnesses. Or could it be a fuse ???

Can someone point me in the direction of where to get the better quality replacement types please.

I think they are available from Travel world for £50. Discount for members of Hymer Owners Group?

Does this look like the original wiring harness, fabric covered ?

Yes that looks original, if you take a loom off (absolute bars*ed to get unplugged from the ballast unit) push back the brading and look at the insulation along the wire you will probably find what looks like cuts around the insulation. Poor quality PVC that has cracked allows moisture to get in and the wire corrodes. You may even find a wire completely broken.

Which model/year Hymer have the lighting harness problems?

Lazeecamper were super quick getting my new wiring harnesses to me, got a small discount via HOG too.

Lenny, I didn't check them, before hand, after reading through the 9 pages I thought I'll just replace them. The cables used do look heavier gauge as well.

Thanks for all the help.

Are they all working now?

I repaired mine myself and made sure I had tools on board for an on the road repair when travelling.

Those side ones are a pig to get off.
Checked original ones, I think they've been replaced as they look like they've been off before, some clips on headlights missing, also found at least 2 breaks in each side. All works now.
