Has anyone fitted a keepfloeing device and are they worth installing

No, but they are basically a good idea. The Floe system uses pressurised air to force all the water out of the system so there's nothing to freeze and cause damage. There is a pressure limiter so the system is not over-pressurised.

I use a DIY version - a digital tyre inflator compressor with a settable cutoff limit, set to about 20psi. I've put a tee in the tank output line, with a shutoff tap and a schrader tyre valve. I can pressurise the system, and open each tap, including the shower and the toilet flush pipe, to blow out all the water.

You have to be careful not to over-pressurise and damage the water heater if you don't have a compressor with a settable cutoff limit.
