Anybody downsized from a 7.5 Motorhome Coachbult to a Panel Van? Was it a good move or regretted? We started with a 5.4 mtr Panel van and moved up to a 7.5 Island bed MH but find a great for camping and motorways etc but general parking in towns etc a bit of a problem, considering going back to a panel van ? Thoughts please if you have done this and if it is a good/bad move? My main concern is Electric bikes are currently stored in Garage and if downsized they would have to go on a tow bar mounted bike rack which would hinder opening the rear doors (Good for security) but maybe a pain for owner access.

How about this for your bikes (Globecar Revolution).

The lower bed can be removed while the other one can be electronically set at various heights.

@jezport may be able to advise further.

Andrew

Or buy a Busbiker like the Dutch do .... that’s our plan ... rack swings out so doesn’t impede the doors opening. Not cheap though

Yes, thats my set up. I have 2 folding bikes so they fit under the beds when both beds are in.
Could easily have 2 full sized bikes and sleep with the bed higher up, but we would rather use the folders and have the bed right down.
Dont like having bikes outside, they get damp and or stolen. And impede use of the rear doors.

@MickyP
If you use the search facility at the top right of the page there is a wealth of information on this, plus/minus and some useful ideas.

Good luck.

Some WildAx owners have the Atera STRADA DL 3 towball mounted bike rack... slides to allow rear doors to open.

Since April 1846 but have always camped.
Our bikes go on the back but Thule have one that drops down which I assume will allow the opening off the rear doors. We have an IH with no opening rear doors but a big boot and it works ok for us.
