Four years today since Dougie completed the record breaking lap of the TT course, but worth another look........

Nasher do you fancy a one wheel lap on the unicycle?

Thanks for posting this video of Dougie Lampkin wheeling around the TT course. I hadn't watched it before and thought it was magic.

Arthur is his uncle.

and you can now enjoy gin made by his (Dougie’s) wife.

Now I feel really old I remember my dad taking me to watch a scrambles in the early 1960's to watch Jeff Smith!" And there was Lampkin in the event, it might have been Arthur!

Yes, and that's what bringing memories back. Scrambling used to be on telly on a Sat in the early 60s

Unfortunately had a bit of a crash last competition, aggravating the whiplash I suffered in a car crash years ago.
Bike is off back to the dealers to be sold🙁
Been doing trials since 1991 and do enjoy a good crash but due to other health issues if I break something I’m in serious trouble.

Now what else can I do:unsure::unsure:

I normally take one of my unicycles to the Isle of Man.
A few years ago I had the intention of doing a lap, but the traffic is just too heavy & fast to seriously consider it during the TT and Classic TT/Manx Grand Prix periods

I did also consider attempting a lap outside of the busy periods, but realistically there's just too much traffic, with the added complication that much of the course has no speed limits and my max speed is about 12mph

In terms of distance, I have completed the 58 mile London to Brighton ride, so it is achievable (hey, 37.7 miles would be a doddle!)

I did appear on TV briefly, unicycling at the TT - it was around 2015 in Peel with Whit & Plater commentating on me

Have you thought of a long distance unicycle ride instead of just being local maybe for charity, I will start with a £1 a mile 🤣🤣🤣
I should add it must be a sensible charity 👍

Be careful, it could cost you a fortune - I did 10 miles today just for a bit of fun after lunch and before going out for a ride on one of my motorbikes - yes really

I have also done a 10 mile ride with my bottom 2 metres off the ground on this:

Remember - I'm normal, everyone else is just weird 🙂

Your a real caricature it would be nice to catch up sometime and my offer stands for a days ride 👍
How about a charity learn to ride a unicycle for a weekend ?

Nostalgia time.......Multiple World Champion in the making, this time Graham Jarvis, who turned out not to shabby either, has his number. 👍🏼

Volume up for the intro 👍🏼

I'd be more than happy to do a charity training weekend - might also include a bit of skateboarding tuition?

From a venue perspective, somewhere with flat smooth tarmac and a long wall (about 6ft high) is best
