I'm New!
Currently in North Italy in the van, had a double gas disaster.

We 99% cook outside the van, on a cadac Firstly I’ve gone and melted the hose, touched a pan and melted right through it. Gas leaking out. My fault, feel like an idiot.

One of these https://www.gasproducts.co.uk/cadac...h_drS3IoYXB2oZEI8u2FdTDrfasac5agaAi8AEALw_wcB

Is there anything I’ll pick up easily in Italy to solve that problem. Currently at the Northen end of lake Como. Can I cut it and just fix it in with jubaliee clips? Problem is cadac is on its QR which in turn is on a thread so no nipple to use.

Back up is use the van hob, plumb the gas back in……. Gas leaking out the adapter, no idea how as I used it recently with no problems. Only thing I can think is this is a new 907 cylinder.

It has one of these in the van (photo attached) but a nicer fancier one. When it’s fully open gas pours out of the screw cap area. Is it some Sort of over pressure? Failed valve? and will I be able to find one in Italy easily?

If it’s low pressure, I would be tempted to just get a joiner and use jubilee clips to get you sorted. Cut the melted bit out, join with a suitable bit of pipe and crack on.

Like this.

Or just get the quick couple bit from somewhere.

I reckon Amazon will deliver to a campsite too. Might be easier than faffing?

Can’t find the quick couple bit on Amazon.it but that had been what I was thinking just cut it and add that on.
The pipes got crimped fittings which is great until you want to shorten the pipe because your an idiot!

Apparently there’s a local hardware shop 200m away which stocks gas bits for camping, I’ll try there first thing.

Can’t solve the mystery on the fitted stove. Worked fine so recently.

You haven't misplaced or damaged this little O ring on the valve that sits against the cylinder have you ?

It’s not from the seal it’s actually leaking out of the screw valve at the top, that you turn to open.

Good news is local Hardware store , just the pipe and chopped the crimp off, underneath it’s just a standard fitting so fitted it back on with a jubalee clip.

That’s half solved for now!

There's probably a gland nut under that red knob that you could tighten, but given its age, you might be best just getting a replacement valve.
