VW t5.1 conversion
Hi there.
We are looking to upgrade from our T5 to a large (under 6m) campervan. There are only two of us but we sometimes need to carry an additional two passengers (it would be my daily driver).

I have found this on the internet which would be ideal but I can only find them in American dollars. My question is... am I wasting my time looking for something like this as it isn't legal in the UK?

On the other side of the coin, is there any way we can have two temporary seats in a campervan. I have seen aguti seats (which are in a bailey) but nothing else.

Any help would be gratefully received.

No expert but I imagine that they must meet CE standards for safety and have something solid to bolt into purpose fitted on the chassis and then you will need an engineers report to satisfy your insurance company who may well say nay as the vehicle has been adapted by a non approved workshop, There are vans out there, that have the two additional seats that fold under the benches, my Adria compact has two fold away seats in purpose made fixings that hide under the side benches. I know other makes have something similar

If to have pre fitted rails for seating being van based you are okay to look at adding?
Otherwise it needs to be bolted to chassis and engineering report. Then convince DVLA / Vosa? And then convince your insurance company.
